I started with ten fish cages in 2016 — struggling every day to find feeds and fingerlings. That struggle became a mission. GreatLakes Feeds was founded not just for me, but for every farmer around this lake who deserved better.
Today, over 60% of our team are women. We have recruited 1,200 women into aquaculture and purchased more than KES 13 million in raw materials directly from female smallholder farmers. Our next step: scale our hatchery from 200,000 to 900,000 fingerlings per harvest — and leave no order unfilled.
